Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 4, 2026

This policy explains what BearPaws collects when you use bearpaws.io, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run a free, ad-supported market-context site.

What we collect

BearPaws is built to be read, not to harvest your data. Most of the site — currency scores, pair correlation, news, and the economic calendar — is served as static pages you can browse without an account. We collect three kinds of information:

  • Usage analytics. Pages you view, how you arrived, approximate location (derived from your IP, not stored as a precise coordinate), device type, and browser. This is aggregate behavioral data, not personal identity.
  • Advertising cookies. If you consent, our advertising partners set cookies to measure ad performance and limit how often you see the same ad. Ads appear only on our public market pages, never inside the logged-in terminal.
  • Information you give us. If you contact us or create an account, we store what you send — such as your email address and any message content.

We do not collect brokerage credentials, trading account numbers, or payment card details on this site.

How we use it

We use the information above only to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the site and its data quality.
  • Understand which content is useful so we can prioritize what to build next.
  • Serve and measure advertising that keeps the public site free.
  • Respond to your questions and support requests.
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Third-party advertising partners

Our public pages are supported by advertising, currently served through Google AdSense and its partners. These providers may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Where the law requires it (for example, in the EU, UK, and EEA), we ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any advertising or analytics cookies are set. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time. You can also manage Google's ad personalization at adssettings.google.com and opt out of third-party vendors at aboutads.info/choices.

Cookies & your choices

We use two categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies remember your preferences — such as light or dark theme and display density — and keep the site working. These do not require consent.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies are optional and set only with your consent where required.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via , which reopens the consent banner. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may reset your preferences on each visit; blocking advertising cookies will not stop ads from appearing but may make them less relevant.

Data retention

We keep analytics data only as long as it is useful for understanding trends, then aggregate or delete it. Messages you send us are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and to maintain a record of our correspondence. Cookies expire according to the lifetimes set by us or our partners — typically from the end of a session up to a maximum of two years.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note that we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will never charge you for, or penalize you for, exercising them.

Children

BearPaws is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
